The Pujiang Innovation Forum, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, was founded in 2008. Academician Xu Guanhua, also former Minister of MOST, is the Forum Chairman. Orbiting around the theme of innovation and consistently gathering global scientific and technological resources through global vision, the Forum is a grand event on innovation ecology linking the world’s scientific and technological circles, industrial circles, academic circles and investment circles. It is committed to becoming a platform for release of important signals, for guidance on key topics, and for source of critical statements in the field of global science and technology innovation.
Under the annual theme of "Sharing Innovation and Shaping the Future: Towards an Open Environment for Scientific and Technological Innovation", the Forum 2024 will explore how to create an open, fair, just and non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological innovation in the current international landscape to promote openness and cooperation. It will exchange views on how scientific and technological innovation can support and lead high-quality development and consequently boost the world economy. It will discuss how to foster and develop future-oriented industries and open up new fields and new arenas based on cutting-edge technologies. It will emphasize on how to advance institutional reform in science and technology in order to build a better ecosystem for innovation and improve the overall efficiency of the innovation system. It will also promote artificial intelligence technology cooperation and governance, so that technological advances can better benefit humanity. Let us work together to make scientific and technological innovation more open, inclusive, universal and balanced for the benefits of all, so that people of all countries can share the fruits of global innovation and world economic growth, and so that scientific and technological innovation can make a new contribution to the common welfare of all mankind.
At the same period, the Global Tech-Matching Fair (InnoMatch EXPO) will be held, to establish a professional display and exchange platform for major findings in science and technology innovation, the demands of enterprises for innovative technologies, and the launching and purchasing of innovative products from micro-small and medium-sized enterprises. And the WeStart Global Entrepreneurial Investment Conference (WeStart) will be held, focuses on the innovation, talent, industrial, and capital chains, as well as four major innovation and entrepreneurship service scenarios: "Incubation Upgrading, Entrepreneurship Empowerment, Social Scenarios, and Entrepreneurship-Investment Synergy" with the aim to build an international and resource-based service platform for matching capital with projects.
