The 17th Pujiang Innovation Forum 2024, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government will be held in Shanghai during September 7-10, 2024.

Under the long-term theme of "Sharing Innovation and Shaping the Future" and annual theme of "Towards an Open Environment for Scientific and Technological Innovation", the event will explore how to create an open, fair, just and non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological innovation in the current international landscape to promote openness and cooperation, exchange views on how scientific and technological innovation can support and lead high-quality development and consequently boost the world economy, discuss how to foster and develop future-oriented industries and open up new fields and new arenas based on cutting-edge technologies, emphasize how to advance institutional reform in science and technology in order to build a better ecosystem for innovation and improve the overall efficiency of the innovation system, and also promote artificial intelligence technology cooperation and governance, so that technological advances can better benefit humanity.

This year, a series of activities structured as "1+24+2+3+X" will be held, including 1 Opening Ceremony and Main Forum, 24 Sub-forums, 2 Expos (InnoMatch Expo and WeStart), 3 Special Dialogues, and X Associated Activities, such as Youth Hubs, achievement release conference, the Night of China and the Country of Honor, and innovation competition.

Beyond the Annual Conference, serial Conference Season Events will be held normally around think tank construction, academic discussion, industrial leadership, the commercialization of achievements, etc.
